Backyard Roller Coaster
Date: Wed, May 31, 2006
This is more of just a photo essay by an interested party, but it does show a few construction details. It's a roller coaster built by an Indiana grandfather who normally works building grain elevators. Neat Stuff!
Did I mention it had a loop? ;)

Dave:
Aaaah, don't be a schlemiel... :)
Jim:
My former tech, Bill, knows this guy through his roller coaster enthusiasts organization. He says that the guy is planning to redesign his wheel assembly to give a smoother ride and to be something more akin to what you find at professional parks.
Still a bit meshugginah, if you ask me.
Jim:
Last night, National Geographic Channel had a program about coasters and, sure enough, they showed this guy's coaster in action and he talked about the changes he's going to make in the next coaster.
I mentioned to my wife that maybe my hobbies weren't so crazy and she said that if I wanted to do something like this and kept it within our budget, I should go for it. I guess she knows how much life insurance I carry.
