Classic Motor Carriages (CMC) is the american company mostly responsible for giving kit cars their bad name. Customers were lucky to ever get half the parts they were promised, and the company has a history that reads like... well, it wasn't a very good company.

This website details the build of a CMC Porsche Speedster replica. The 356/speedster was the first mass produced Porsche, a very pretty little car. For my money the 550 Spyder is even prettier (probably my favorite car of all time really...), but the Speedster definately has charm.

This build diary is very detailed and well written. The author goes into good detail on the engine, the chassis, etc.. Nicely done.
