There are some really nice new pictures on the UK Pietenpol Club website. It will take virtually seconds for you to realize that:
1. The Brits really know how to make beautiful airplanes.
2. And they're also really good at taking pictures of them.

Dave:
G-BUCO is one of my favorite Piets. The best Piet nose in my opinion is the one on the last Pietenpol's made by Bernard Pietenpol himself. Pictures can be found in my Oshkosh pictures, (although they don't really show it off to best advantage), and here. But it's really small. I will take more pictures at Oshkosh this year. :)
Dave:
Oh! and I've linked to Jodels too. I thought about building one, but. Hmm, I had some sort of problem with them, but I can't remember exactly what that is anymore.
I like the Pietenpol because it's exactly what I want -- low, slow, gentle, simplicity. The Jodel is simple, but if you saw a Pietenpol in person, you would understand. Line up a bunch of homebuilts, and the Pietenpol is guaranteed to attract more of a crowd; they are exactly what they look like -- a strange anachronism from the 30's. A lot like a biplane, but with a better view downwards. :)

I also prefer the Pietenpols with the noses a bit more rounded. They look more aerodynamic and the fronts look a lot less like, well, tombstones. The front of the G-Buco Piet is really nice as is the G-BKVO.
Just a matter of taste, I suppose.
