How to Build a Sleighbed
Date:   Thu, October 6, 2005
This is a site about building all sorts of woodworking projects including two sleighbeds (one queen made of Hemlock and one toddler bed made of Spanish Cedar), a treasure chest, nightstands, and picture cabinets.

All of the necessary resources including the template plans(Plans.TIF) can be viewed on the site.

This is my ranting narrative about my fall into the pit of woodworking. It began with a coffee table and spawned an entire bedroom set. I created the site to help anyone who is considering buying a sleighbed realize just how easy it is to make a much higher quality one for less.

I made every possible mistake on the beds, so everything is fairly well cited and corrected. I've only had one person send me a picture of a bed they have made (in the gallery) but hope to have a lot of others in the near future.

Total cost including tools for the first bed was +-$200(wood,router table, bits, bed hardware, glue, screws), for the second $30(wood, bed hardware, glue, screws). You have to be eccentric to build one for sure, but you have to be crazy to buy one!

Dave: You want a CNC machine too? awesome!
