This Kr-2 build diary is pretty good; but the high point -- the piece-de-resistance if you will -- is this Video... My favorite part is the neighbor kid desperately trying to keep the sound out of his head.
Also, there appears to be a whole bunch of good Corvair engine information on this page as well, definately worth looking at if you are interested in the Corvair as an aircraft engine.

The guy I used to work for taxied and even landed on roads all the time. I guess in rural areas, people freak out about it a lot less.
