Jim Michalak publishes an essay on designing and building boats every two weeks. Occasionally he repeats an older essay but in general he is as regular as clockwork. Topics have included sailmaking and design, scarf joints for making long pieces of wood out of short ones, mast making, you name it.

He designs plywood boats with a bit of a Phil Bolger influence, but has a style very much his own.
