SeaGoat?!?
Date: Mon, November 28, 2005
Back in the 19th century, Joshua Slocum was the first person who circumnavigated the earth alone. His book, Sailing Alone Around the World is one of the classic stories of the sea. Slocum's boat was the Spray, which was cannibalized from an abandoned boat given to Slocum by a friend.
The influence of this book is widespread; Bruce Roberts has made a living selling various designs similar to the original Spray. Even the smallest of these have interesting interior layouts and are known as very good cruising sailboats, albeit not as fast as some.
Take a look at the construction of the SeaGoat, which hasn't quite finished, but surely will be soon. The Build Diary can be accessed through the odd little navigation interface at the bottom of the left hand column. Click on the X's.
