Track, Locomotives, Cars for children's wooden train sets
Date:   Mon, March 21, 2005
When I was a kid, I loved the little scandinavian wooden train set that I owned. Probably because I was a freak for anything involving trains. We had a set of tracks that ran within about 400 yards of our house when I was a kid. Every time a train went by I would run out of the house to count how many cars were being pulled, how many locomotives, etc. I loved trains.

Take a look at this page, which details how to make your own track and rolling stock for wooden train sets, it's really cool. A couple different locomotives, a round house(!), even a freighter for container shipping. Plus, he details some very cool jigs for cutting curved sections of track. If I had access to all the tools that this guy had when I was a kid, the whole house would have been one giant wooden trainset.

Oh, and here is another website with lots more rolling stock to look at...

Cecilia: Wow, that is so cool. I have some wooden stock and tracks somewhere in storage. They always were a lot of fun, and very durable. They weren't new when I got them, but they still looked great.
