This boat uses a construction technique so devilishly clever I wish I would have thought of it myself. They call it Origami boat building, but it reminds me more of Fiddler's Green style paper card models.
Take a look at the page he made on how to design the hull, especially how he switches back and forth between using paper models and Cad software.
Another facet of this design that I like is that it's essentially open source. The designer allows you to use his plans for free, and to creat your own boat off of his design.

Nice little boat. I agree that it's very creative method for designing it. Though I would think it would make it more difficult, jumping between CAD and the paper model.
