This is simply a grab bag of pictures that I didn't want to give their own category. This placard is on a door for a C-130. What possible other uses could the door have? Don't open this door if the plane is on Mercury, it may be too hot outside! The placard for this plane says it's a "Modified Long-Eze". While I can see the family resemblance, it's safe to say it's something else. I returned 2 days later with Travis to take the third picture, that's him with the perplexed look on his face walking away from the plane. Can you tell we were in the "Rutan" section of the homebuilt parking? Here's a Quickie... Next is the Twister, which is a new homebuilt being imported out of Germany. Looks like a baby Spitfire, or maybe just a pregnant mommy Spitfire? Nice looking plane. This is a new design by the same guy that designed the Stewart Headwind. He did such a good job of designing a classic looking airplane, there isn't one sour note to the design, it just looks... classic. More information here. Look! the Waiex has... a Rudder! seems a bit big to be a trim tab anyway. I never noticed until I saw it in person. Cecilia is standing next to a very pretty Corsair modified for racing. Most of my friends know I like "small" things; small computers, small cars, etc... Well, here's a small tri-motor. It's called a Kreutzer Air Coach. Certainly has more charm than the Ford Trimotors, which always seemed a bit too... ugly for me. :) Notice how the exhaust comes out of the front of the engine, is collected in a ring that doubles as a cowl, then is sent over the side of the plane, cool! Here's a couple WWI replica fighters. A Nieuport and a... Voison? Both very nicely done. The Voison looks like it had an accident involving a bicycle shop, but came out in operable condition. This is a replica and a beautiful one too. Look at the claws on the weelpants. This was one of those aircraft that had so many people looking at it, they were killing the grass. Curtiss P-6E Hawk. |
