This weekend Travis, Cecilia and I went out to the Portland Vintage Races. We had a marvellous time -- it was exactly what I was hoping to see. Lots of really cool old cars, some racers, some sports cars. Lots of strange european cars you rarely see in the states. I totally recommend going to a Vintage Race day. What I liked best was the participatory nature of the whole thing. The paddock was open; so you could walk right up to the cars. This must be a hair raising experience for a vintage Ferrari owner. I figure if I dropped my camera on a car, half the people in the immediate vicinity would weep openly, and the other half would proceed to creatively and painfully kill me.
