Here's a Sample of the WSG in all it's glory. I did it up in GarageBand, it's 4 separate passes with the WSG and some effects. Almost sounds like bits of the original...

I did the strip board version off of the website. Note that if you are not paying attention, it uses all of the schmitt triggers and you'll need extra potentiometers (not that *I* had any problem with that... hehe...)

It's a pretty easy project, I had to change the layout because my board was narrower than the one used for the original. Just make sure everything connects to the bits it's supposed to, and you'll get weird noises. I decided not to show pictures of my board, it's a total rats nest, and not of use to anyone. When I build my SoundLab, I'll do better documentation of the build, promise. This was more for fun than anything else.

Notes on Operation:

First, you twiddle this knob. Preferably back and forth; pulling the knob off of the post won't do you much good. twiddling knob
Next, you might want to flip one of the switches, this will wildly modify the sound coming out of the box. I still haven't figured out exactly what the switches do; it's like a bizarre logic problem that you can never quite solve. flipping switch
Then, if you really want to go wild and crazy, turn this other knob back and forth, until the "WONK WONK WONK WONK" sound suddenly turns to "Chirp!d-d-d-d-d-d Chirp!d-d-d-d-d-d" twiddling knob
And then, for your finale, when you want to put it over the top, just that last little bit to wow the audience... Turn 3 knobs at once! This is my awesome secret technique that will earn me lasting fame and rock n' roll stardom. twiddling several knobs

Oh, and here's some more cute cat photos... I think it's a WSG tradition...

Hey, and if you've made it all the way to the bottom of the page, you might want to look at the rest of my website as well -- TONS of information and links for the tinkerer and lovers of the hands-on imperative.
