I had a really easy time with mounting the monitor in my cabinet. I looked at the monitor, and it had a nice straight ledge on both sides were it would be very easy to just sit the monitor on two cross pieces. Easy as pie. I did put reinforcement underneath the cross pieces, which is unfortunately very hard to see in the pictures.

It's a ViewSonic Optiquest Q95, in case you want to find a monitor that's easy to use in a cocktail cabinet. It's a few years old, so maybe you can pick one up fairly cheap on Ebay or whatnot. The swivel stand is easy to remove (there's a little tab you push in, and it comes right off... your mileage may vary....)

Ours has a wonky video cable (the blue sometimes kicks in and out), but it has been well behaved in the cabinet.
