We toured the interior of the Lancaster, a very interesting aircraft.

The Canadian Warbird Museum maintains this aircraft in flying condition, we unfortunately missed when it flew in, that must have been awesome.

The monster wing spar -- there's a grab bar above to get you up and over.

There's no way you could get out of this plane if it was on fire, missing a wing, and spinning into the ground.

Also, the flap actuator that runs through the fuselage must be 1 1/2 feet in diameter. Serious stuff. The Spar has a curved section to it. Oh, and the astrodome is just high enough for a 6 footer not to bang his head when he stands up in it.

What else...

You could see really well in the mid fuselage turret, the guns didn't get too much in the way at all. Maybe they have taken some of the equipment out -- come to think of it I never saw a gunsight in there. Hmmm.
