Got some new pictures of the Pietenpol hangar out at Pioneer Field. Not much (if anything) has changed. It looks like Bernhard just left to get some lunch. It's the only dusty museum exhibit I've ever seen that looks like it should be dusty.
It's always a little sad to me to see airplanes in a museum, especially if they are just static displays, and no longer flying.
Also, it seemed like a good idea to keep all the museum shots in the same category, because most of them were taken in low light, and consequently, they suck.
Steve Whitman, designer of the Tailwind airplane (amongst others), was a significant early member of EAA, was heavily involved in air racing, and died in an airplane crash with his girlfriend, who was much younger than he was. My kind of guy. (the last bit may be apocryphal, I cannot find supporting evidence...)
