Last year I went to see the Portland Adult Soap Box Derby. It was awesome. Grown up men & women, drinking beer, and launching themselves down the side of a volcano (albeit a very nicely planted volcano with an asphalt road surface), shooting water at each other and the spectators. There was mooning involved, and cars that looked like giant penises.

There's 2 crowds of people generally involved, best delineated by the question on the sign up form "Circle one: are you on the side of Art or Science?"

Naturally being the person I am, I had to get involved. There's been an itch at the back of my brain for years to make a little car. All the design resources are available on the internet if you look for them, albeit in a pretty simplified form, and a soap box car does not have to be terribly complex.
